What is the best practice for deployment verification.
How do I know my app is running ? Is it based on a script I need to run to check or there is another solution?
Is there a way to have indication\link from Jenkins job result to octopus deployment result ?

To verify that your application is running correctly you need to execute a step after the deployment. So for example if your application is a website, you may want to ping it to ensure you get a 200 result back, for other application types it may be different.

Regarding a link from Jenkins to Octopus, again you need a script step that would post the link to Jenkins, you may find useful our Jenkins integration, see https://octopus.com/docs/api-and-integration/jenkins.
